And so the 12 Days Begin

Well scrappers, you know it's 'tis the season when Tim Holtz starts his 12 Tags of Christmas! Here it  is Season 5 or is it 6..anyway...today is day 1. So here is the tag that Tim came up with ... I didn't have a lot of what he did, but I was able to 'improvise' a lot and still come out with a great tag.  My only ugh is that I think I used a bit too much of the white paint/stickles on the greenery... My favorite part is the banner.  I didn't have any music stamps so I found some vintage music sheets on the 'net and printed it off onto some Kraft cardstock and then added some Vintage Photo DI to it.  A little distressing and voila!   Also didn't have the pinecone die so I used one of my flower dies instead and I think it worked alright :) Stay tuned tomorrow for the next one.  It goes live on Tim's blog in a couple of hours but I'll be asleep by then :)  Catch it in the morning...it's like opening up my advent calendar each day :)

Animal Antics

Image
It's a new challenge at the Poodles Parlour this week. It's all about the Animal Antics.    Bugaboo is our great sponsor this week and they gave us the cutest images to work with!  I made this adorable baby card for my DT inspiration this week.... After coloring the image with my copics, I inked around it while in the nestiblility.  The paper and little sentiment is from a Hot Off the Press baby 8x8 pack that I have had forever.  The buttons and the twine from my stash as was the bling.  I received the butterfly in a swap ages ago and am glad I was finally able to use it! A little bit of border punching and voila! I hope you like it.  Please stop by the Poodles Parlour blog to link up your own project for this week's challenge and for all the details on how you can win from our great sponsor Bugaboo! I've entered into the following challenges: Cute Card Thursday : A Pinch and a Punch (use at least 1 punch) Do you Stack Up?! : Friendly Critters Little Red

It has been a great honor and I have enjoyed every minute of it.  This week, another great challenge for you.  We are SEEING RED!   We would love to see it with your projects as well, so make sure that somewhere on there, it can be in your DP, an embellishment, some coloring in an image, there is some RED! Make sure you stop by the blog for all the details and prize information! Here is my card for this week.  I loved this image from CocoDingo because I've had this Cinco De Mayo paper in my stash forever that I could finally use.  I added a little bit of jupe and a bit of ribbon and that's it for this one.  The stamped sentiment was from an old stamp I found in my stash.  The image was colored with my copics. A Handmade Challenge on Sarah Hurley

Image
It's a new challenge at Sarah Hurley this week.  Thanks to all of our participants for last week's summer challenge.  Great job to everyone and the winners are posted on the blog.  This week, Ria has given us the challenge of adding handmade flowers to our projects.  A great challenge to be sure. I have used the DP and image from Sarah's new Oz collection which can be found here .  This collection is adorable!  I printed out the clip art version of Glinda rather than doing my own coloring this time.   I cut her out and added some stickles to her wings for a bit of sparkle.  I made my flowers using ribbon rather than paper for this challenge.  I really liked how they turned out and I just added a little pearl to the centre of each one.  I used my new MS punch that I picked up yesterday to add a bit of border to my card.  The sentiment came as part of a swap.  Enjoy and I look forward to seeing your projects this week. I've entered into the following challenges:

I have been asked to be the guest designer for June at CRAFT YOUR PASSION!.  I want to thank them for this great opportunity and I am very excited to be joining them this month. So today is the first Monday of the month and that means that it is an anything goes challenge!   Who doesn't love those!  Create what you want and show it off.  All of the challenge details including prizes can be found here .   So for my first challenge with CYP, I am using a great image from Lauretta.  If you remember about a year or so back, I created a card with the saying 'a true friend tells you about the toilet paper stuck to your shoe'.  I really love this saying and I totally know that my BFF would not only tell me, she would probably try and pick it up herself..LOL  When I saw this image, that saying was the first thing that popped into my mind to put with it. I used some scraps of the Bo Bunny Gabrielle that I had left over from a layout that I did for Scrapbook Your Heart.  I i

A Lollipop Shape Challenge

Image
Good morning all..it's Monday so another new challenge over at Lollipop Crafts .  Our great sponsorthis week is Just Some Lines and they gave us some images to work with.  We're doing a non square/rectangle card/project this week...so if you have one that has a shape to it, make sure you enter it into our challenge on the blog. Here is mine this week I cut the shape out using my A Child's Year cartridge on my cricut.  That cart is great for cutting out shapes.  For something different, I had tried coloring the images using my chalks and my blender pen...It didn't work out quite the way I wanted it to, other than in the hair, so I went over the images with my glitter and stickles instead because the shine matched the bit of glitter in the DP I used.  To finish it off, I just used some buttons and flowers in my stash, a die cut butterfly that was white and inked green and then a few pearls.  The stamped sentiment is just from an old set I have and use quite often! I

I picked some up on sale at my LSS and love it, so the bunny's ears and her eggs are flock! Way cool!  I hope you like it and be sure to stop by the challenge blog and enter this week's challenge! Entered into the following challenges: The Crafty Pad: use a digi I Did It Creations: Welcome Spring Al

It's a Lacy Thing

Image
Good morning everyone!  It's challenge day at Lollipop Crafts and this week it's all about the lace!  Such a pretty dainty thing and we'd like to see what you can do with it on your projects.  It can be actual lace, lace punches, lacy borders whatever you can come up with.  All of the deets can be found on our challenge blog so please stop by and enter.  I can't wait to see what you create and the design team as well as our two guest designers this month have created some gorgeous projects for you! So here is my dainty little piece. I have no idea why I decided to do a Christmas card.  I think it's because I had that embossed piece of cardstock and really wanted to use it up.  I had seen an all white card in a magazine I picked up recently and loved the look of it so I knew I wanted to try that as well.  So this is what I came up with.  The cardstock is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  The lace is actually cut off from a big sheet of it that I found when

A Floral Thank You with Sarah Hurley

Image
So today's marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT.  Our theme this week is Flowers... Without further adieu here is mine... (shout out to Lori Padberg .  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it) I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah's line which can be found here . The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can't wait to see them! I've entered into the following challenges: Anything Goes Challenge Blog : diecuts Creative Craft Challenge: thank you Desert Island Crafters: use 3 items from the itinerary ( 2PP, distressing, inspired by nature) Ginge
